HCP Institute for Applied Research and Education

For the Improving Healthcare for Older Adults project, the Center is partnering with the HealthCare Partners Institute for Applied Research and Education (Institute), a freestanding, independent 501(c)3, not-for-profit foundation.

The mission of the Institute is to enhance patient clinical outcomes and patient experience through delivery system redesign, education, and health policy development. Under the direction of Dr. Jeremy Rich, it strives to improve community healthcare by conducting applied research with a focus on developing and testing innovative approaches to achieve the nationwide Triple Aims of better care, better health and lower costs, and by proactively disseminating and sharing best practices.

The Institute is dedicated to the dissemination of best practices to all participants in the healthcare system including medical groups, hospitals, safety-net providers, policy makers, academics and consumers. It has a rich history of collaborating across a wide range of academic and healthcare organizations nationally, including a recognized innovator in integrated healthcare, HealthCare Partners (HCP) Medical Group, whose wide geographic presence in Southern California provides an ideal learning laboratory for rapid implementation and testing of interventions designed to improve quality, lower costs and meaningfully engage Medicare beneficiaries.
